The Great Fiber Experiment

It all started in 2013 with a simple request from Benton Central Jr/Sr High School.  They wanted me to come and teach them about fiber....but I didn't know anything.  Three months later I was dying and blending fiber, spinning and weaving.  The results were amazing.   In 2014 I experimented with lndiana wool, llama and alpaca and started thinking about "fiber sculptures."

The Head
This piece, made from mahogany and brass, is meant to represent the back of a human head.  It can hang on a wall or sit on a shelf.  The idea is to create different looks by changing the fiber.

This fiber was specially spun from wool, alpaca and silk and is all naturally colored.  It can be cut, braided or beaded.  Other fibers can be added.  Colored fibers could make for a really exciting piece.  It is my hope that it will be "played with" often.
